Hi, I’m Lynn.
I am someone who has overcome much, and has much more to overcome. I am in the continuing process of ducking (rarely fast enough) the countless curve balls that life throws at me, and triumphing over the many that smack me upside the head. Emerge Triumphant is dedicated to encouraging and helping you to do the same, as we journey — and sometimes battle through — this amazing thing called life. Because we all need life support.
My Story (The short version)
I was adopted at the age of three months, and despite the best efforts and love of my parents, suffered from Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD). By my teen years my life had become an out of control train wreck. I’ve battled the devastating effects of two failed marriages, Lyme disease and its ugly cast of characters, depression, abuse, permanent injuries from auto accidents, phobias, the deaths of loved ones, and so much more. A lot of what I’ve battled has been the natural consequences of my own bad choices, much of it has happened due to the bad choices of others, and the rest were just those nasty curve balls of life that caught me square in the face.
A cursed life, right?
Absolutely not. An extremely tough life perhaps, but it’s been well worth it. The things I’ve learned and the strength and wisdom I have gained are priceless, as is the steadfast love of God and family. There have always been rays of sunshine and warmth even through the most ominous clouds, and much to laugh at despite the tears. There has been healing.
But the truth is, we all have our challenges in life, and sometimes even horrors. We need each other, to share the good, bad, and downright ugly; to commiserate with, laugh and weep with, to talk with and bounce ideas off; to encourage and strengthen each other. Because we’re all on this long, insane carnival ride together…and we can without a doubt, emerge triumphant.
